Twilight, First Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer. Loved the first half of Twilight. First Moon was hard to get through. Eclipse really picked up at the end. And Breaking Down was awesome getting everything tied up. Love Jacob!

The Pillars of the Earth
by Ken Follett

Couldn’t put it down. Wonderful story about a priest’s struggle and rise to success. Most of it is around the building of a cathedral. The stories around the blacksmith, his children, a princess and her father’s downfall and the power struggles of the knights and lords.

Dick Francis

Dick Francis

On my mom-in-laws recommendation, I have read several Dick Francis novels.

Shattered - It was my first one. I love how he teaches you so much about something that is almost irrelavent to the storyline and then at the end uses that information to resolve/explain. It had almost nothing about horses and lots about glass blowing. It was a good story but now that I have read a few more of his novels, it is not my favorite.

Field of Thirteen - This was thirteen different stories and I don’t remember much about it now except that I really enjoyed it. Maybe I’ll reread it later and make notes of what they are about.

Wild Horses - I really enjoyed this book. The backdrop is the making of a movie. The main character is the director. He solves an old case from 20 years ago in which his film is loosely based on and almost gets killed. It was also neat for me cuz I finished it the week before the Oscars.

The Danger - Just finished this one and it was wonderful. The story is about a man whose job is to help get kidnapped people back. He resolves one case after another and they all seem to be tied together somehow. The kidnapper is the same person but the crime is committed in three different countries.

Eat, Pray, Love

Eat, Pray, Love
by Elizabeth Gilbert

I guess no one else is still doing the book challenge this year but I like to keep track of the titles I read here so I can reference it if I want to recommend a book or find an author I liked.

I finally got this book that Eve already read and I liked it alot. It is my first none children’s book since Timmy was born. I’m quite surprised at the level of meditation she was able to achieve and wonder how much is real and how much is fiction. Regardless, it made me think alot about my life. Questioning who I am and what do I want to do and how to balance my own life. I liked the sit and smile meditation =)

Food of Love

Food of Love
by: Anthony Capella

Not as good as the Wedding Officer but it was a fun read. The story about a wonderful cook in love with a beautiful woman but he is self-conscience about his looks so he helps his good looking friend pursue her and helps him cook up fabulous meals to impress her. She is extremely impressed but senses something is not right. Eventually the truth is told and a happy ending.

The Wedding Officer
by: Anthony Capella

What a delicious book! It is a love story set in Naples during WWII between a British officer and a cook. He is stationed there to prevent the soldiers from marrying the Italian girls there, known as war brides. Soon he himself falls madly in love with this girl. She is a widow who lost her husband to the war and takes up a job cooking for the British officers. Yummy both in the description of the foods and in the tangled romances at wartime Italy. Happy ending too. I was slightly worried for awhile it was going to be depressing but all turned out good.

Harry Potter #7

Harry Potter #7

It’s all over. The good guys win and the bad guys get beat up. As for the details, you can find out for yourself. I enjoyed it as much as the previous 6. Some good twists and stuff I suspected was confirmed. Keep your eye on the sword. I had to reread that part to really figure out what happened. It would have been too obvious of a loophole for the author not to notice. =)

Deception of the Emerald Ring

Deception of the Emerald Ring
by Lauren Willig

It was a good read but her stories are starting to follow the same plot line so it is getting predictable. This one had less of the romantic effect cuz the heroine and hero is married first. They then fall in love as the story progresses. Still fun to follow the historian student around to learn the happenings of spies centuries ago. She finally gets a date with the handsome gentleman at the end of this story. Willig is working on her next book so we’ll see.
